About

The Lionheart Times brings the news and events from Lionheart and throughout the Grid.

The Times welcomes articles, photos, and other contributions by all members (and friends) of the Lionheart community. It is a strictly volunteer-run undertaking. More on that below.

Free kiosks that link to the Lionheart Times are available. Look over in the right margin for more info on that.

Some of our guiding principles:

  • We publish fact, not fiction. Opinions and editorializing will be clearly described as just that. This is not a RP paper; this is a publication of factual events and occurrences in Second Life, be it business openings, policy changes, renovations, live events, etc.
  • We publish stories, not advertisements. We are not one of those long-winded advertisement magazines cleverly disguised as a news outlet. We hate that and we’re pretty sure you do too.
  • We answer questions, rather than ask them. Too many headlines ask questions. We strive to answer your questions, because that’s what news is and should be for.
  • We publish what we can, when we can. Because we’re volunteer-run, RL deadlines and commitments take priority and thus a set schedule for publication doesn’t exist.
  • We’re not interested in being “fair and balanced”; we’re interested in being accurate and factual.
  • As a community publication, we depend on help from the community. One person alone does not a newspaper make. Anyone is welcome to contribute in any way they can.
  • We cost nothing, we pay nothing. We don’t take revenue for ads or “kickbacks” from anyone. We don’t make a red linden off this publication. The Times also has no parcel on which to pay tier, so we have no financial burden to motivate us to take any kind of revenue. Conversely, we also don’t pay our contributers. We want contributions from people who have something to say and aren’t motivated by making this a source of income.

If you have something to contribute that either concerns Lionheart Estate or Second Life in general, send an IM or notecard to Clover Windlow. Or if you want to leave an anonymous tip, we have a place for that, here.

Thank you for your continued support of the Lionheart Times. It is my hope that you will not be disappointed.

Clover Windlow
Times Editor-in-Chief

Please note that the Lionheart Times is not an official publication of Lionheart Estate management. Staff members may contribute and are consulted for fact-checking purposes, but do not own nor run the Lionheart Times. This is a strictly independent, community-driven publication, and therefore opinions and views expressed are not necessarily those of the staff of Lionheart Estate.
